Important Travel Information for Visitors to India

The U.S. State Department has lifted an earlier travel advisory on India. As world events unfold, the organizers will make every reasonable attempt to adhere to the conference schedule, but acknowledge that developments may prevent intending participants from attending the conference. Partial refunds of registration fees may be allowed: check the Map India policy on cancellation charges. Please be aware of advisories issued by your government regarding travel to south Asia.  The following web sites may be helpful:

Getting to and around India

Airfares range from $1500 to $5000 for the same economy seat, depending on the airline and more so on the travel agent.  If there is enough interest, we may be able to arrange group fares in the $1200 range, probably on Singapore Airlines.  Please contact us asap if you're interested.

Late January is a perfect time to visit India, with night/day temperatures in the 10/25°C range. Sunday January 26 is Republic Day, at which you can expect to see spectacular parades and perhaps a display of military hardware in New Delhi.

We are in touch with a group that organizes guided tours geared to intellectuals, with articulate and stimulating tour guides, e.g. depending on the destination, you could meet a real maharaja.  This would require a sufficiently large group.  Please contact us asap if you're interested.
